Connect globally with children from all over the world learning the IAM Children’s Meditation technique, inspired by Amma.

FREE children’s workshop online on Sat April 27th, 6-8pm.

The IAM®-Children is a playful and simple meditation technique for children ages 10 – 14 and only takes 15 min. a day to benefit from daily practice, once learned.

It helps children achieve a state of inner calm and improves concentration.

This online course is FREE and parents are welcome to join with their children.

IAM Instructor Sreemayi shares her experiences about the benefits: “Youth experience changes during and after the IAM Course: from anxiety to calmness, from agitation to inner stillness, from feeling sad to being content. Most participants, even those with ADHD and anxiety, notice a deep sense of calmness and are motivated to practice the IAM daily, some along with their parents. So many children, even those only 10-years old, experience how much Amma’s IAM meditation makes a big difference in how they are feeling. For example, one quite mature 11-year-old girl had joined the course with the desire to ‘find another perspective in my life’. After the course, she shared her surprise that she experienced so much peace inside her and she motioned with her hands, ‘and all around me’. And she was still feeling it as she shared“

Youth IAM students receive Certificates of Completion after their 21-day practice. Refresher Classes and Private Youth Courses are available for groups, such as after school programs, study groups, and weekend courses. Teachers, parents, and organizers, please contact Sreemayi for more information.

Benefits

Studies show that a regular meditation practice benefits children in numerous ways, including improved focus, reduced anxiety, and enhanced emotional resilience.

According to a study published in the international journal Evidence-Based Complementary & Alternative Medicine (eCAM)*, people who practice the IAM® Technique experience a reduction in stress-hormones in as little as 48 hours after beginning the practice. Other positive effects, including heart and respiratory-rate reduction and immunological benefits were also recorded by practitioners. In addition, a positive alteration in attitude has also been clinically observed, with practitioners of IAM responding more calmly to “stressful events” than a control group.
