DONEGAL SATSANG

Amma’s satsang group in Inishowen has been meeting for many years. The visit of an Ayurvedic doctor to Inishowen in 2002 who played the tabla gave us the kick start and confidence to start singing the bhajans we had been listening to for many years. We have met weekly since that and enjoy meditating, mantra repetition and singing devotional songs together. We are lucky that we have a small centre from which to run our activities. Many people have come through our doors in the past few years and though we are a small group, we are very active.
In the past we have hosted visits of different Swamis representing Amma who have come from India. We have a great yoga teacher who runs yoga weekends for us each year and have been lucky to host an Amrita Yoga (the gentle technique developed in Amma’s ashram in India) teacher from India. Amma’s IAM® Meditation is also taught here and group practices can be facilitated by our local teachers. Local and national retreats have also been hosted regularly. We had an active AYUDH group here, and are waiting for the next round of young people under 30 to gather to take over!
We have a polytunnel which two satsang members manage and provide our little community with a bumper crop of organic vegetables and fantastic strawberries. Following Amma’s advice, over the past number of years, we have planted 500+ trees per year in different locations around Inishowen, and are excited to watch our little Amma forests grow. We also host many fundraising events including vegetarian dinners, an annual holistic treatment fair and a regular charity shop, helping with the charitable initiatives of Embracing the World and assisting with bringing Amma to Ireland.
Our satsang group meets on a Thursday evening and we are very happy to welcome new people or anybody who is visiting the beautiful locality.

The Cluain na dTor group meets in Falcarragh, Co. Donegal, with weekly chanting happening in our beautiful polytunnel, giving participants a great opportunity to connect with nature while doing their spiritual practices.
